A Baby Shower

My sweet sister-in-laws hosted a baby shower for me on June 15th. There were pink cupcakes, pink flowers, pink paper lanterns and plenty of pink baby goodies. I'm loving all this pink!

Isn't this diaper cake adorable? Yes, that is a monkey on a motorcycle made of diapers. Liz created it herself with a little help from Pinterest. It isn't shown here but Addison made her own miniature version which was equally adorable, although she used some of sister's toys in her design which was okay until Brooklynn recognized the goods.

My heart is fullest on occasions like this when surrounded by family and friends. Here I am with both moms. My mom's friend Linda made them both pink necklaces to wear at the shower. They rocked them well.

Ashley is one of my oldest and dearest friends. We had many conversations as little girls about what our husbands would be like and how many kids we would have- that is when we weren't camping out on the trampoline, making prank calls to strangers or playing Girl Talk.
Her two babies are also the same distance apart as mine will be so she's already given some great advice on double strollers and juggling two little ones.

Kayla and I baby bumpin'. She's 19 weeks here. I'm 33 weeks and growing by the minute.

Easton even joined the party after he woke from his nap. Does he look like he's ready to be a big brother?

Thanks to my sisters for making this day so special for me. We can't wait to meet Baby Girl H and try out all the precious new baby stuff we received. Truly blessed.

A Little Bit City - A Little Bit Country

Last week, the whole Harris crew came to town for an extended weekend. Well, not the WHOLE Harris crew, I'm pretty sure we're up to like a hundred people now- but our immediate family paid a visit. Kyle, Jeanette, Josh and Katie live in Chicago and of course, Jan and Dave are in Muskegon so they have all visited at different times but this is the first time they have all made it to Texas together. To say Chris and I were excited is an understatement.

Kyle and Jeanette got held up in the Chicago storms and despite a delayed arrival time of 4 am, they were such troopers when we headed out to explore Austin on Thursday. Our first stop was lunch at an Austin favorite, Hula Hut.

Afterward we headed down to 6th Street and hit up a few local spots....the kind where you can find golf on TV and cold brew.

I would say this was Easton's first time in a bar, but sadly it wasn't. ;)

One of our favorite places to grab dinner with a view is the Oasis so we took everyone to Soleil. With two babies on the way and the engagement of Josh and Katie, we have a lot to celebrate.

The next day it was off to the country. My parents were beyond happy to be hosting everyone for the weekend. They live WAY off the grid but everyone was a good sport about the three hour drive and rural entertainment. This included hog hunting, four-wheeling, feeding horses, fishing and a shrimp boil.

Of course, it's June in Texas so it was a million degrees out. We tried to beat the heat by submerging ourselves.

The cutest newly engaged couple.

Soon-to-be parents. Jeanette is almost five months pregnant. Doesn't she look great?

E entertaining Nani and Papa.

We're so grateful everyone made the trip .....now if we can just get everyone to move here.

East Tx Escape

On Thursday, we headed to East Texas for another long weekend which got me thinking...all weekends should definitely be three days long. The guys went golfing the next day and we hung back and played outside. Easton splashed around in the pool with Mimi.

She also hooked him up with some new water toys and this super-fun chair.

On Saturday, we were thrilled to attend my cousin Ashley's baby shower. We're the same age and are both expecting little girls one month apart. We're so excited for the arrival of Baby Tyndall Reese next month.

Meanwhile, Chris played man-to-man defense at the pool with E. Popsicles are another treat we only get at Mimi's house.

...And the most exciting news we received all weekend was the ENGAGEMENT of Josh and Katie! We love these two and can't wait to celebrate the big day with them next year!
