Pumpkin Patch 2014

Last year, we were so eager for Fall that we hit up the pumpkin patch and local farm early in the season one of the first weekends they opened. That proved to be a big mistake. It turned out to be a 90 degree day and between a newborn, a toddler and a Midwest husband who's never acclimated to the Texas heat, we lasted about 30 minutes.

This year we decided to wait it out. We waited it out so long that when we finally went they were closed for the season. Lucky for us, the weather had turned out nice that day and they still had some pumpkins left so they decided that morning to open the gates. Thank goodness. That would have been an interesting hour in the car on the way home.

This farm typically attracts around 10,000 people each day during the peak season and on this day there were less than 10 so our failure to check the internet sort of worked out in our favor.

Easton enjoyed having free rein of the bouncy mat....

And we had the undivided attention of all the goats...

Here's three years of this pumpkin face...

Until next year....

Presley's First Year Part 2

We put Aunt Janae's photography skills to work to mark Presley's first year. I recently got my hands on the photos and am so pleased with how many capture her personality. She's such a sweet, fun, loving girl and though she was so tired the morning of this shoot she still managed to give us plenty of smiles. Mimi's pretend sneezes were especially hilarious.

And here is cuteness for every month of year ONE. Oh how fast it went!

Presley's First Birthday

Our sweet girl turned one August 7th and we celebrated with a get together at Mimi & Grandpa's house.

Addison helped me put all the decorations together. I was so grateful for her because of course, I was running around trying to get everything and everyone ready and she was my right hand gal.

Here's the birthday girl on her big day.

She wasn't overly enthused about the "Happy Birthday" song. My family isn't gifted with a talent for singing so maybe we scared her?

Strangely, neither one of my kids are crazy about birthday cake. She tasted a few bites but then forfeited cake for a big bottle.

The cousins were so helpful opening gifts.

Here's our attempt at a family group photo.
