Dinosaur Dig?

All week long, on our way home from school I saw a sign that read, "Dino Day This Saturday." I have no clue what Dino Day is, but it definitely sounded right up our alley. I mentioned it to Chris, and he remembered about a place near his running trail where you go to dig up "dinosaur artifacts". How fun does that sound? We built it up to Easton all day, using it as a bribery tool on many occasions. "You have to take a good nap, because when you wake up we're gonna go dig for dinosaur bones."

When we arrived, it wasn't exactly as we imagined. Really it was a giant sandbox. It did have a giant something in the middle of it that could have passed for a bone. Nonetheless, it still looked like a good time. Except our child isn't one for getting dirty so initially, he wasn't that impressed.

But once we showed him that you could make castles out of sand and bury your feet and toes, he could have stayed all day long. He loved building castles and then knocking them over and having Daddy cover his feet so he could surprise us by popping his toes out.

Presley napped through the whole experience but joined the fun just as we were bribing Easton with a swing ride before we headed home.

I still don't know what Dino Day is and will have to engage my inner archaeologist another day but am glad we discovered this new, fun spot.
